Dear experts:
I need confirm about VCF version upgrade question. our customer has VCF3.9 environment. they want to upgrade the VCF 3.9 to VCF4.0, I thought it`s not supported, right? thanks any responses .
It is currently not supported and an upgrade path is slated for sometime next year.
Not supported. See official docs:
https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Cloud-Foundation/4.0/rn/VMware-Cloud-Foundation-40-Release-Notes.h...
I have a doubt:
We are on VCF 3.9 and would like to go to 4.0 or 4.1
What if we go outside the VVD design, upgrade everything to VCF 4.0 versions and then go back to VVD compliance, would that be supported?
You will have to provide some more details as to what exactly you mean here.
If you use that approach you will break the inventory of managed entities in SDDC manager internal database.
The first step in the upgrading process is to upgrade the core components (Cloud Foundation Software). This is a key part of the upgrade process.
You should wait until there is a supported upgrade path.
