I'm trying to commission a new host to VCF 4.3.1.0 and it's failing on the ESXi version. The host had been installed with 7.0U3, but when I try to add the host, it fails validation with the following error:
Host ESXi version - 7.0.3-18644231 is not supported. VCF supported ESXi versions - [7.0.2-18426014]
Of course, the version it's looking for has been pulled due to a security vulnerability. Is there way around this? Either ignore the version or some fix to SDDC to allow mismatched version?
Hi
The hosts versions must align to the VCF 4.3.1 BOM.
ok, so how do I get that version of ESXi? Can I get it from SDDC?
You can download it from https://customerconnect.vmware.com/patch or else there are datastore mounts in vCenter that are a result of SDDC Manager deployments. If you look through the repo datastore you may / should be able to find it in one of the folders.
I downloaded from there, but it seems like a collection of patches, I wasn't sure how to create bootable install media from that.
This will help https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.esxi.upgrade.doc/GUID-22A4B153-CB21-47B4-97...
Thank you! Looks like that was the fix.
