Upgrade to CF questions

A customer is looking at VSAN Enterprise in the short term, but long term is interested in Cloud Foundation.

Assuming customer buys VSAN Enterprise, please answer the following:

1) are the possible upgrade SKUs the following?:

Upgrade to VCF STD

CF-B2-VS6-STD-C

$11,255.00

Upgrade to VCF ADV

CF-B2-VS6-ADV-C

$14,695.00

Upgrade to VCF ENT

CF-B2-VS6-ENT-C

$16,865.00

2) Does customer have to have vSphere Ent+ to make the ABM upgrade?

3) If the answer to 2) is YES, and they have vSphere Standard, do they have to upgrade to Ent+ or Platinum before upgrading from Ent+/VSAN to CF?

4) What are the following SKUs for?

They appear to be licenses customer could purchase in lieu of the ABM upgrade licenses

SKU Product Description List Price Publication
CF-CPU-B3-CCloud Foundation w/o vSANVMware Cloud Foundation (Per CPU) without VSAN$9,525.003/1/2018
CF-CPU-B7-CCloud Foundation w/o vSAN, NSXVMware Cloud Foundation (Per CPU) without NSX and VSAN$5,030.003/1/2018

ad 1) yes, these are the upgrade SKUs you need.

ad 2) I assume with "ABM upgrade".you refer to the upgrade to Cloud Foundation from question 1), so the answer is yes, make sure you have vSphere Enterprise+ licenses for all CPUs as well as they are not included in the upgrade SKUs.

ad 3) Yes, they need to upgrade whatever vSphere version you have to Enterprise+ (or Platinum)

ad 4) These are old SKUs which no longer exit. Please let us know where you got them from, so we can clean this up.

Frank,

Just a few more questions:

Customer purchases vSAN Enterprise (they also have vSphere Ent+); they want to upgrade to CF Standard.

Yet, CF Standard Suite normally includes vSAN Advanced and CF Enterprise Suite includes vSAN Enterprise.

Can they upgrade from vSAN Enterprise to CF Standard, even though its CF Enterprise that normally includes vSAN Enterprise?

Yes, you can do the upgrade as you described: If the customer has vSAN Ent and vSphere Ent+ and they upgrade to Cloud Foundation Std they can leverage all features of vSAN Ent in their Cloud Foundation Std environment.

As a general rule: All individual product SKUs in a Cloud Foundation scenario behave like Lego bricks which you can assemble as needed.
