Dear all,
Is there any possible to upgrade VCF 3.10 to VCF 4.x (4.2)?
According to document, https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Cloud-Foundation/4.0/rn/VMware-Cloud-Foundation-40-Release-Notes.h... the VCF 3.10 cannot be upgraded to VCF 4.0. It will be appreciated if you share anyway to upgrade directly VCF from 3.10 to 4.x. Thank you!

Hi,
There is currently no direct upgrade path, general recommendation is a side-by-side migration if you have the resources.
VCF 3.x to 4.x we dont have a path and currenlty its not possible.
if you want your infra to upgrade to 4.x then you will have to rebuild your VCF 3.x to 4.x , thats the only option right now.
Since VCF 4.x MGMT has NSx-T and NSX-V is no more there in VCF , we will have to wait for VMware to provide the supported Path
VCF 3.10 to VCF 4. x is not supported for the upgrade.
The only option to built-in parallel if you have extra hardware 🙂

You need to reach out to VMware PSO team to take consultation and then do inplace migration of VCF 3.x to 4.x, vRA 7x to 8.x and NSXV to NSXT
Need min version of SDDC Manager 3.10.1.2 to proceed with this migration.

Hi Would Suggest reach out to VMware team they can help in this migration based on assessment done on your infra.

You mean to say we can only upgrade as per BOM but not migrate any VCF build

Rajeev
Ravi
any docs lick for migrate 3.10.1.2 to 4.0.x
Regards
Rajeev
Hi Rajiv,
so the VCF 3.x to 4.x is purely internal to VMware Team. No public docs available.
VCF 3.x to 3.x / 4.x to 4.x upgrade as per BOM . But from VCF 3.x to 4.x its a in-place migration .
