Tanzu is the name of a portfolio, not a product. If referring to vSphere 7 with Kubernetes, you can either used a collapsed management/workload domain (min. 3 4 nodes) or separated management/workload domains (min. 7 nodes).

vSphere w/ K8s requires 4 nodes using the consolidated architecture.

depending on what you have, from a functionality perspective it can be 3, it can be N+1 from HA perspective and N+2 depending if you have VSAN fault tolerance.
