We are running vROM 6.2 doe sanyone know how to create a custom report on VM inventory with the datastore the VM is currently running on? RV Tools can do it using the filed called path that shows the path location of the VMX files.
I hope vROM can do it as well seeing how robust it is. thank you!
That is one of the many what i would call simple things vrops does not do. The relationship is there as you can see the datastore the vm is on in the capacity remaining window but it is not exposed as a metric or a property under the virtual machine object. I hope it is fixed in upcoming releases
Ok, thanks alot, that what I thought as well after digging around within the properties. What a shame, probably one of the biggest types of reports admins should run so they dont have to go spelunking searching through numerous datastores to find a VM when not in inventory.
