vCenter Collection levels and vCOps

How does the collection level I configure in vCenter affect vCOps?  Will vCOps retain the same amount of statistics and granularity no matter what collection level vCenter Server is configured with?

The collection level in vCenter Server has nothing to do with vCOps and the data it collects. vCOps collects the most recent 12 data points from the vCenter on objects - 20s intervals * 12 samples = 5min - which falls within the past 1hr real-time perf stats window and isn't impacted by the hr/day/week/month rollups.
