vCPU metrics for Custom Groups

Is it possible to get compute metrics for a custom group?

I have a group of VMs tagged in vCenter that are now in a custom group in vROps. I was assuming that vROps would track all the basics of a custom group such as total vCPU\memory\storage in use, VMs powered on\off etc......but there's almost nothing.

AFAIK only the 'badges' are calculated for custom groups: health, risk and efficiency. And capacity. This being said you can add the metrics you need by creating a super metric for the group...

Thanks for replying. I started looking at super metrics too, but stopped when I found you can't select a custom group as a base object type. I also tried using VM as the base object type and referencing Custom Group in the formula but all I see are custom datacenter and custom script as options. So, I assumed custom groups are also excluded from use in a super metric.

I guess I'd want a simple forumla such as 'count vCPU where custom group = XYZ' but that doesn't seem possible. Have you done this another way in the past?

When you create a custom group, you define it's type:

The group type I picked is "Environment". Now when creating a super metric this is the type you select:

Good luck!
