can't connect to vrealize to web ui vrealize operations manage

Hi, having a lot of problems trying to deploy vrealize operations manager.  1st I couldn't deploy the ova to the vcenter version 7.01U1 - error Transfer failed: IO error during transfer: java.io.EOFException: Unexpected EOF read on the socket. - googled that and there is a thread about  it, nothing helped there.  So finally deployed it to a host, works no problem however, I can't get it to connect to a vDswitch during deploy and it powers on on the standard vswitch which has no uplinks for now... so then I power down, go to the venter and move it onto the correct portgroup on the vDswitch and reboot.  Comes up to bluescreen that says logon using the ip address I gave it.  No dice, can't ping the address or login to the webui.  Soooo, went to the console, login - googled what the root login was, all I could find was that it was root and no password, wouldn't let me login with no password, locked me out after 4 attempts.  Redeployed again.  Got into grup and bash and reset password.  So, now I an login as root, I can see that the ip is set and I can ping everywhere from the appliance.  This is vsphere 7.01u1 on all the hosts and vcenter, vrealize operations manager 8.1.1.16522874.  This is all the most current stuff downloaded from  my VMUG Advantage program... hate to be negative, but seems like a lot of hoops to jump thru to get this working for the average joe/josephine.

Hi,

This should indeed be much easier then what you are facing. I did a installation a couple of weeks back on vCenter 7.0 and vROps 8.1 without any hassle.

Anyhow... did you check the running services?

Hi,

You should create our own topic for this. But for now try this link

I got the same issue, seems like something odd in my environment. Tried with all 8.x version.

The deployment seems lacking some steps and it can not provision the vm right.

I removed all DNS setting as suggest in https://communities.vmware.com/t5/vRealize-Operations-Manager/Deploy-vROP-8-4-DNS-LOCALHOST/td-p/285... no luck.

I'm running out of idea 😞

My solution is set DNS name to machine IP address.

I also encountered the same problem. I tried all the methods upstairs, but they didn't work.
I found the video of resetting the password of the vrops virtual machine and logged in. Using lsof - tcp: 443, the result was empty.
And I can ping to the gateway. However, other machines in the same network segment cannot ping to the vrops virtual machine, even any virtual machine in the same VDS.
