Widget Help. . .

All:

I am trying to make the Heat Map (2) display ONLY the VM's that are on the datastore I select in the Resources (1) widget.  Ideally, the VM's would be there, sized / colored by latency.

I can't seem to make the Heat Map display ONLY those specific VM's.

Any ideas?

Thanks!!!!

Here you go..just change the VM metric's you need to display.

briley1, always a good idea to mention the version you are running. Based on the screenshot you have chosen to display only one metric (instance vs general) so you wont get sized and color by. I always change my widget titles from default (heat map) and I always set heat maps to refresh in a timeframe similar to my collection cycle.

I think you are trying to use an interaction of selecting from top left box and wanting to see something like the vms that are associated. Maybe a health tree option is the receiving widget.

If you can share a bit more, then perhaps we can get your dashboard completed soon.

I'm on 5.6.0.  I understand the Instance vs. General thing.  I was just trying all options to see if it would work.  Maybe this is not possible with the Heat Map.

Thanks for the help.

Very nice Hugo!

I cannot figure out how to get that "Additional Column" in the Resources widget.  Any ideas?

Yes...that took me a while also :slightly_smiling_face:

Just click on the Column "name" .. you will see a drop down box appear. In that drop down box there is a Columns option.

Just select what you need.

Gotcha.  Thanks for the help.

I'm showing all my hosts in that Resources window as well, so I need to figure out how to filter those, and just have the VM's.  But you've given me a great start!

Thanks again.

Might be your Filter on the resource widget is not correct.

Filter on all Powered on VM's

It's strange.  I have it config'd like yours, but it still shows hosts and VM's.
