What is the parent of all Resources?

I'm using the vROps API to query some metrics Utilising the resource ids of VMs, Clusters and more.

I would like to know if there is a parent of all resources where I could query summary data or If i would have to aggregate all the resources or all the data somehow on my own.

I want that "Parent Resource" So that I can retrieve stats for everything such as "Total Disk Usage" or "network flooding"
