VM custom tag or custom attribute not visible in Aria 8.12.1 (custom groups)

Hi,

I created a custom tag and assigned it on some vm's.

In Aria I created a custom group and selected the tag but no vm's are showing up.

I tried the same with a custom attibute but even that is not show up.

When I lookup the VM in Aria I see the tag is assigned and visible. So Aria knows the tag.

Why are the vm's not showing up in the custom group with the assigned tag selection ?

Does the field get auto populated? Let's say you remove CompanyXYZ and only type C... does is auto fill?

Do you have tags enabled in the policy?

Hi,

no it's not populated. Even when I type 'c' it show nothing.

Maybe the issue is in the policy, I didn't know I need to enable this in a policy ?

Check which policy is in use, edit it and search for tag in the "Metrics and Properties" tile

Hi,

I checked the policy (I use the default policy) and searched for TAG, but I see all tag info is already "activated" and green.

So It should be available...

Indeed then it should work. How and where did you create the custom tags?

Custom tag was created in vcenter -> administration -> tags.

But when I lookup a VM in Aria I can see it in the metadata, so it's available in Aria, but not selectable in the custom groups.

You selected the "wrong" type, try selecting "tag" and not  "properties"

I tried with Tag, but even with Tag the value does not show up.

I tried like on your screenshot but no value's and gives 0 results. Even when I try with "is not" or "contain" / "does not contain" it makes no difference.

My vROps tags are in the tag category "vROps". Be sure you change that according your setup.
