Third Party Adapters and SNMP

I have a VNX adapter bringing information into vCOps.  How can I generate an SNMP trap to go out from vCOps when there is a condition I want to report on that came in through this information?

If you're using vROps 6, you'd create a symptom/alert definition combination to highlight and alert on the said condition.

If you're using vROps 5.8, you'd create a KPI/HT on the metric (condition) you wish to highlight, which will generate an 'alert' that will go out via the outbound SNMP adapter.
