SNMP MIBS - Cisco Router - Trying to get throughput metric

Hey there!

I'm chasing how to get throughput in bits on an interface for a Cisco 9000 router, sounds easy, but i'm stuck.

I have added a router via SNMP and added a few MIBS for testing to try and sort this out.

So far, I haven't had any luck obtaining any real metrics on this.

IF-MIB, EtherLike-MIB, RFC1213 all return nothing.

There appears to be an OLD-CISCO-INTERFACES-MIB, I haven't tried this as yet but there appears to be a metric locIfInBitsSec."interface number"

All I am chasing is throughput in bits on each interface. 

I can see that I could write a supermetric that could use Octets over a 30 second period but I found that way to hard to achieve.

There are management packs from Blue Medora that do routing, but my network guy wasn't impressed that it was in bytes not bits and cannot be changed 🙂

Anyone have any insight on this? Been looking at this for a while now, I am getting no-where.

not sure on the mib part but the BM management pack you can either create a super metric to multiply the bytes by 8 or the view can be change to show bits instead of bytes i be leave. has been a while since i used it
