Hello Guys,
I have couple questions regarding the Hyperic and vC Ops integration? Here is the scenario
We are on vC Ops 5.7 advanced version license. When you compare to enterprise version it says vC Ops advanced cannot get the monitoring of Microsoft OS, middleware, applications and Oracle databases and also storage adapters for EMC Symmetrix and NetApp storage arrays.
If i integrate and use the Hyperic adapter can i get those OS and storage stats. Also the hyperic is in two versions. Open source and Enterprise... what is the difference between these two and which is should choose if i have a huge environment say around 3000 machines....
Thanks

Vk the open source version doesnt scale to your size, no support, and no security. Thats what I remember from a few years ago. Maybe its changed, but that might help determine which version. As I also recall... Hyperic was a premium $$. But worth it if it solves your problems. Based on my experience with hyperic getting those metrics should work. I dont/havent administrated hyperic to know for sure, but the point is if the metric can be exposed it can be collected by hyperic.
Thanks for your response Service Optimi. My major concern is about only this.

Can i get these details if once i integrate hyperic with the vcops 5.7 advanced license.
