Monitor ESXi configuration changes ?

Hi all

I have used vROPS 6 – How to create an Event Alert for when someone changes a VM setting | VM IGNITE to monitor VM configuration changes and it works fine.

But this approach seem not usable when monitoring host (ESXi) configurationchanges, because these does not generate an event.

How can I use vROPS to monitor my ESXi's for ALL configuration changes ?

Regards

André

as far as i know you cant audit ESXi hosts with vrops. If you have a licence for log insight you could use that to show audit logs for esxi hosts

in the past there was a product called "vCenter Configuration Manage" and today is part of "vRealize Operations IT Operations Management: VMware".

for some checking you can use Host Profiles and via scheduler run the checks and report.

It is best to use Log Insight for this

It is correct to use Log Insight for this, especially if you are running ESXi 6.5 which includes a much better audit logging. What you can do is to use Log Insight to collect the logging from all the hosts an let Log Insight trigger an alert when a configuration change occurs and send the alert to vROPS. In this way you still have one place for all your alerts.
