How to find deleted VM info from vCOps

I am using 57 vapp and trying to determine cpu, mem etc settings for some vms that were deleted from the vcenters. I see them listed in /custom side, not vsphere side. but zero data even back 90 days. How can I gen data on those vms?

It depends on your churn rate and retention levels. Open the Custom UI. Browse to them in Environment Overview and "Show Detail" > All Metrics. Switch the graph to 1 year, then view the specific metrics for Memory Configured, CPU Provisioned Cores, etc. Also try the Summary metrics. If the metrics haven't rolled on you yet, it'll be there.

If your metrics HAVE rolled, it is gone and no metrics will populate the graph. You're only 'hope' at that point is that possible the very basic data is still stored with the resource. When you go to "Show Detail" for the VM resource, check the configuration (IP, etc) in the left hand side under the basic metric sparklines. If that also is no there.. you're out of luck and waited too long before trying to look this info up.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Markj. I came to the same conclusion.... they waited to long to ask. If they had vCM I think they would have still had the config data. But not sure. Either way thanks.
