How can we get number of Idle VM in vROPS ?

I need to create a dashboard which have a trend view for number of idle VM for each day of month, i think it can be done by Supermetric but don't have much idea of it.

Yes, you'd need to do a SM for it. Just checked 6.1.0 to see if it is a default metric, and it is not. Just apply hte SM to a cluster or whatever you need, traverse down X step in the hierarchy, and SUM the "Summary|Is Idle" values.
