Email Alert Notifications continue to be sent even when Disabled or Removed

I configured a number of alert notifications in vROps 6.0.2 for testing.  Once done, i either disabled or completely removed the alert notification but the emails still keep coming.  Why are the emails still coming and how to you stop them if disabling and/or removing them doesn't work?

What outbound adapter did you use? SNMP? SNMP? Are there any notifications that still exist?

Do you mean which message handler did i use?  The standard smtp email handler on port 25.  And yes i still have the notifications.  New ones' come in even though the alert definition has been deleted.
