Configuration|vSAN|Checksum Last Value : N/A

Hello ,

Thank you for your time and guidance.

I would need your understanding on how to validate checksum on vSAN cluster.

I've used this KBA https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphere/7.0/com.vmware.vsphere.vsan.doc/GUID-08911FD3-2462-4C1C-AE... and have a storage policy applied with

As per the doc, this enables the checksum on the vSAN cluster.

However in the Aria for Operations under
Environment -> Object Browser -> vSAN -> (selecting cluster) -> Metrics -> Properties
the cluster, the query for checksum returns "N/A" -> This gives a Alert as its needed to be enabled/configured.

Is this expected behavior -> which means the Checksum is 'Enabled'

How to we validate this 'checksum' setting in any other way to prove ,

Either checksum is not enabled?

Checksum is enabled and the validation is incorrect?

Something else is wrong and i need to raise an SR to VMWare.

Thank you

Venu

From a vSAN point of view, checksums are enabled by default, unless explicitly disabled, guessing this is indeed an Aria issue, so no need to worry about the vSAN aspect. (But indeed, this needs to be fixed)
