Hello,
I am using LogInsight v4.0 which is an upgrade from 3.6. I tried to load the vSphere 3.6 content pack and all I get is an error. Now, I should let you know it was loaded previously, but during the upgrade disappeared, actually, I went to the admin/ gui to look at things. But once I went there, I had to reset the entire LogInsight and that caused all my content packs to disappear, just not my data (thankfully).
Can someone point me to a logfile to look at to determine what is wrong? Is there a way to physically remove a content pack from the CLI, or to reset permissions. At a loss here. I really want that content pack back. All others loaded JUST fine.
Thank you,
Edward L. Haletky

This is the vSphere CP v3.6 , please try and import this content pack from the content pack ui.
Also when you upgrade vRLI next please keep an eye on the CP and let me know if you see similar behavior, this is the first I have heard of the CP disappearing post upgrade , so I would like to know more.
Hope this helps. Thanks.
That sounds terrible, the vSphere content pack comes with the log insight . Are you saying you want vSphere content pack v3.6 in the log insight v4.0 product?
Have you tried installing the content pack from the in-product marketplace?
Thanks.
Hello,
I have vRLI 4, there is NO content pack loaded for vSphere, all I have is General. Yes, I tried from the market place. I loaded a bunch of other content packs as well just fine. Including my own. I think something happened to remove the vSphere content pack that comes with LI as I just do not see it anymore.
Best regards,

Hello Yogita,
Is there a way to reload the default content pack then? That is all I wish to do. Without the content packs I added from the market place, all I had was 'General'.
Thanks,

Yeah just a sec ...I am checking if I can extract the vRLI 3.6 version from github and attach it here ...stay tuned.

Hello Yogita,
That worked wonderfully. Odd that it did not work from the Marketplace however.... Bug?
Thank you,
Edward
Thanks I will look into the marketplace for possible issues.
Ran into a similar problem. Attempting to update the Content Pack via he MarketPlace would fail with a simple error. Decided to uninstall the old, and install the new .. same failure ... "Error Installing VMware - vSphere Content Pack".
Found this thread, downloaded the content pack provided and installed manually. Now working fine.
Hi tbarturen,
I would like to take a look at your environment, can you send me an email id so I can send a meeting invite.
Thanks,
-Yogita.
