vRO 7 does not show up in vSphere Web Client

Hello everybody,

I've deployed a shiny new vRO 7 appliance in my lab. I added the vCenter instance to the vRO config and registered the vRO extension. I can see in the MOB that the vRO is registered. vRO uses the "vSphere" authentication mode and the vSphere Web Client user is member of the vRO Admin group (domain global group in my AD) . But unfortunately the VRO will not appear on the Web client.

vRO appliance: 7.0.0..16989 Build 3310032

vCenter appliance: 6.0 Build 3339084

Any hints where I can look for additional information (Logs etc.)?

Hi everybody,

I was able to fix this with a little help on Twitter. Main reason for my problem was the wrong URL used in the "Register vCenter Orchestrator as vCenter Server extension" workflow. The URL must be in the format: https://fqdn:8281

Thanks for your help!

Have you tried turning it off and on again?

Kidding asides, vSphere Web Client logs are located at /var/log/vmware/vsphere-client/logs/vsphere_client_virgo.log.

Please verify that you have added vCenter instance by its FQDN (not IP address). Also, the name is case sensitive, so it should be registered exactly with the same name as visible in vSphere Web client.

I have the same issues as the OP, and have run into this same problem in 2 different environments.

Glad that worked for you. I had already done this and still have the problem though.
