Is there any way to enable automatic version increases when saving actions, configurations, and resources?

Not to my knowledge. It's an entirely manual process.

The option to auto increase version on save is available only for workflows.

Just out of curiosity, do you find this feature useful? To me, version increment on every save looks like a very unnatural way to keep track of changes; I'd prefer editor to support multi-level undo/redo.

I find the auto version increase very helpful for workflows. I am sorry to hear it is not possible for other element types.

Of course, robust "code repository" type features like merging multi-user updates, check in/out, multi-level branching version management, and so on would be fantastic, but they sound like difficult changes which would require a major redesign of the product.
