Technical Preview Version of VMware vCenter Orchestrator Plug-In for vCloud Automation Center 6.0.1

Technical Preview Version of VMware vCenter Orchestrator Plug-In for vCloud Automation Center 6.0.1

This is a patch release of the plug-in.

Version 6.0.1-1875427
  • Fixed issue when running the plug-in together with the VMware vCenter Orchestrator Plug-In for vCloud Director.
  • Fixed issue when running the plug-in with vCO configured in cluster mode.
  • Fixed issue when getting "null" as the form of some catalog items (e.g when executing the workflow "Request a catalog item" or the action "getRequestFormForCatalogItem").
  • Fixed issue in the workflow "Create a Management Endpoint" when executing it with "vSphere" as the type of endpoint.
  • Added two new workflows for registering a VM and expose it through the catalog: "Import vCAC Virtual Machine" and "Import vCenter Virtual Machine". The workflows "Register a vCenter Virtual Machine" and "Register a vCAC Virtual Machine" are kept for backward compatibility.

Please note, that the attached plug-in is QE verified, but still not a final version.

This release is not an official one and is intended for testing purposes only. It is not recommended for production use.

Does this also address the issue I was seeing where the plugin was not working with vCO in clustered mode?

Not yet, but we'll provide a newer update in a short time addressing that issue as well. Sorry for the inconvenience.

What is the specific issue when running with the vCloud Director plugin?

When both plug-ins are installed together, the inventory of the vCloud plug-in is not shown.

Heh... I probably have this issue then and wasn't aware of it in my dev environment.  I'll pull this down and give it a shot.

The updated version includes the fix for the plug-in with vCO in cluster mode now.

So far the cluster mode issue seems to be resolved.  Thanks!

Hi, I am having issues with the ' Import vCenter Virtual Machine' using storage pods, where it doesnt seem to recognise that the datastore is part of a storage pod, will this only work for direct datastore placement ? Cheers

Hey tm19,

Did you get any resolution to this.  I'm running into the very same problem.

Sorry for late reply, I used a different way know, using advanced service designer to trigger the vcac workflow.

Cheers
