Slow workflows when taking snapshot

I have a question about vCenter connections.

Is there a limit on the maximum number of request that can be sent per second for a specific connection to vCenter?

The reason why I’m asking is that we have an “issue” with Orchestrator.

We have created a workflow that checks if it is possible to create a snapshot (enough storage, has no snapshot, …) and this runs for 1-2 seconds.

But when we start the Create Snapshot (default workflow of Orchestrator), and while this snapshot is being created we run the same validate workflow (as above) then this workflows runs for 8-10 seconds (factor 4-5 slower)

And we pinpointed the issue to the “vim3WaitTaskEnd” in the Create snapshot. If the polling is set to 2 seconds (as default) we have these issues. If we increase the polling to 300 seconds (of remove it), we don’t have these issues anymore.

Whilst the snapshot is being created, we run the same validate snapshot but as a different user, and then it runs for only 1-2 seconds again.

So there must be some kind of maximum number of commands per session/connection?

Or is there a workaround for this?
