Using vCO appliance deployed from vCO_VA-4.2.0.1-507352_OVF10.ovf - Hard to explain what happened. I had left the orchestrator client up for a couple weeks and when I went back to it there was a message saying I was disconnected. I tried to login again and was told username/password were invalid. I logged into orchestrator configuration and found Network,LDAP,Database,Server Certificate, License, Startup Options & Plug-ins – all in red. When I tried to configure the LDAP category, the option to set OpenLDAP didn't exist. I assumed this was my problem as AD was not used prior. I followed the instructions to enable experimental support for OpenLDAP, I was then able to select OpenLDAP but could not get the config to stick. Somehow in trying to work with the configurator, the password got changed. Presently all I can do is log into the console.
Is there a way to reset the config/admin password?
I'd like to get the workflow out and apply to a new install, if the config/admin password can't be reset. Is there a way to dump the database from the console?
Sounds like you can't get back into the vCO Configuration web interface.... This has nothing to do with LDAP, AD, OpenLDAP, etc... the user account you are supposed to login with is "vmware" -- by default, the password was "vmware", but you were likely prompted to change it upon first use or perhaps you changed it and have forgotton what you changed it to. If you are still unable to login with the "vmware" account (only account possible), then perhaps you need to reset the password back to "vmware". If this is the case, please see this post: http://communities.vmware.com/message/1464555#1464555
Note: On the appliance, you'll find the necessary file to edit under the /opt/vmo/ path somewhere
