Orchestrator 7.0 licensing

Hello,

I've upgraded Orchestrator appliance to version 7.0. It works well, but it seems to be running in Evaluation mode (according Orchestrator Control Center -> Licensing).

I've tried to configure the Orchestrator to use license of vCenter Server

- using Control Center I'm receiving error: "Error! Specified license mode cannot be configured! Prior using vSpehre license the Orchestrator should be registered to a vSphere!" - I've got vCenters registered with the Orchestrator and the connection works.

- using workflow I'm receiving error: "Error in (Workflow:Use vCenter Server license / Scriptable task (item5)#12758) TypeError: Cannot find function getServerVCLicenseAction in object DynamicWrapper (Instance) : [_Config]-[class com.vmware.o11n.plugins.configurator.model.PluginInventory] -- VALUE : com.vmware.o11n.plugins.configurator.model.PluginInventory@80dbcf25." - I have no idea, what this means

- I've tried to type-in vCenter license, but it is not valid for some reason.

I'm using vCenter 5.5

Thanks for any hint

maaca

Now I have realized that expiration date is changing exactly to 2 months since the licensing page was refreshed, not since it was installed.

Is it some kind of Easter (Christmas) Egg?

Can you open a SR with VMware's support for this?

I'm quite sure you need a vCenter 6 license key, but anyway a nicer error message would be fine.

Hello maaca,

Typing a vCenter 5.5 license key won't work. vRO 7.0 supports only vCenter 6 / vRA 7.0 license keys.

Hi,

You need to apply either a vSphere 6 Standard or vRealize Automation Center 7.0 license.
