We have a bunch of VMs on one cluster that we want to migrate to a new cluster. But the kicker is that the storage is shared between the two clusters, but from a different network mount point on our NSX hosts.
Our manual process is to
- Fetch Next available IP from Network
- Reconfigure network in VM OS
- Shutdown VM
- Detach disks from old network path
- migrate VM to new cluster and network to new vxlan vxw-vds-sid)
- add disks back in order from new network path
- Power on VM
I have Infoblox vRO plugin for allocating next available and removing old IP for task 1. 3, 5 & 7 is easy enough to figure out.
Does anyone have an idea on what workflows from vRO could cover tasks 2, 4, and 6?
