Our VCO 5.1.1 installation has been up and running for some time without issue. I recently discovered the services were stopped, and when trying to restart the Orchestrator service still will not start. All is green, except for the vCenter server configuration page, which faiels with the error above and the description "com.vmware.vim.binding.vmodl.fault.InvalidArgument: invalidProperty = extension.server.url inherited from com.vmware.vim.binding.vmodl.fault.InvalidArgument: A specified parameter was not correct. extension.server.url"
Any insight appreciated.
Hi FSvcoe,
Have you imported the vCenter server certificate into vCO?
If not please go to SSL trust manager and import the vCenter certificate and try again.
I have, yes.
Try giving these parameters in the config page.
Available: Enabled
Host: IP of vCenter
port:443
check secure chanel
Path /sdk
use session per user
Domain: System
Username
Passowrd
try importing the certificate for https://vcenter-ip/sdk before doing the above steps
Let me know if it worked.
Thanks, but that wasn't it. VCO got uninstalled - again - and I had to re install after reapplying the last saved config. Would be nice if this mysterious random uninstall stopped happening, perhaps in 5.5....
vCO got uninstalled or the Plug-in? How can vCO get unistalled randomly? i do not get it. i mean never heard of such an issue.
Anyway just let me know if you need more help on the vCenter plug-in. And let me know if the above details get the vcenter registered.
It's happened to us at least a dozen times, starting with VC0 4.1, across several different servers. I wish I had an answer but I don't. It seems to be tied to a server reboot where files get partially removed but the product doesn't actually get uninstalled in Control Panel.
May br upgrading to the newer version will fix it.
