Configuration element synchronization change? Now overwriting existing attributes?

So I just did a sync of a configuration element and existing attributes got overwritten.  I have upgraded my whole environment to 5.1.1 now so it is not easy for me to go back and check with 5.1 but I could swear that existing attributes were not overwritten they would remain intact and only attributes that did not exist would be created and their value copied over.  Has this behavior changed or am I confused?  I didn't see any mention of this in the release notes.

There is a new feature / option allowing to import / export config element values. There may be a bug when using synchronization of config element that persists the values.

Christophe.

So it sounds like I need to open a support case?  Christophe you would expect existing attributes to remain unchanged during a sync correct?

Please do. I would expect them to remain unchanged but some customers asked to have an option to copy them. This should IMO stay an option to avoid anything being overwritten by default.

I was one of the customers that likely wanted the option.  In some cases you want to completely overwrite things and in others just move anything new is what is appropriate.  I had gotten in the habit of deleting the configuration element prior to doing a sync when I wanted to overwrite everything.

Thanks.
