I have setup autodeploy on a different server than vcenter. when I try to run the Add an auto Deploy host workflow, it crashes at getAutoDeployHostUr with the error
com.vmware.vim.vmomi.client.exception.SslException: com.vmware.vim.vmomi.core.exception.CertificateValidationException: Server certificate chain not verified (Dynamic Script Module name : getAutoDeployHostUri#4)
Also, I can't see any autodeploy hosts in the inventory, though my vcenter is there and I can run workflows against it.
any ideas?
Hi,
I guess you are trying to use AutoDeploy plug-in 1.0.0 on vCO 5.1 with VC 5.1. If this is the case it is possible to see this exception and there could be also some other issues all related to API incompatibilties. A newer version of AutoDeploy plug-in (5.1.0) will be released in the beginning of October that will support vCO 5.1 with VC 5.1.

That's what I thought, thanks for validating my assumption.
I need to get the UCS and AutoDeploy plugins working together with 5.1 stuff. Guess I'll have to wait.
The UCS plugin should work with vCO5.1. Do you have an issue there?
The only thing is that supports UCS versions up to 1.4+. I believe there are some changes in the UCS 2.0 API and it is not going ot work.
It works somewhat. https doesn't seem to work. I can see my UCS in the inventory though.
My main problem with it my own lack of knowledge on the way that vco talks to the libraries, and how the libraries are constructed. more reading will hopefully take care of that.
I think you need to import the certificate in the configurator /network setting in order to work with https.
Don't hesitate to post any particular questions about UCS plugin please if you have some.
Thanks,
Igor.
