About naming the vCO tasks

All,

The naming of schedule workflows is implemented using the vCO Client when we manually create the task in the scheduler view.

But in case of using the workflow.scheduleRecurrently method, there is no parameter to set the name of the returning task. It takes the name of the workflow.

Through the vCO client is still possible to change it afterwards, but I would like to automate the entire task/schedule creation process.

It concerne about 100 old tasks to be recreated in our new vCO 4.1 server.

Help would be mostly appreciated.

Bz

Hi Bz,

I have answered a similar question here:

http://communities.vmware.com/thread/298169?tstart=0

Is this helpful or does your question relays to an other naming?

Hi Bz,

I've just tested this by changing the name of a scheduled Task in table VMO_Task and it shows the result you want.

Like for workflows it seems to be there is no other way to this by scripting objects.

If you found a way without manipulating DB please let me now 😉

Hi Andreas,

Oups... I forgot to close the thread.

In fact, I renamed the tasks manually, and though I've not found a way to renamed them without managing the vCO database tables.

Thank you for your help.

Kind regards.
