VMRC repeat key press problem

When logging in on the console of a Red Hat Enterprise Server 7.7 VM using VMRC we get a repeat key press problem. This makes using the console very problematic, especially logging in with a long password.  Curiously there is no such problem accessing the same console from Virtual Center. Has anybody else seen this issue or know a resolution? Once logged into the console I have been able to fix the issue by running the Red Hat commands below however it does not fix it for the login screen.

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.peripherals.keyboard delay 1500
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.peripherals.keyboard repeat-interval 30

This is VRA 7.5.

Try setting the VM property keyboard.typematicmindelay to about 3,000,000 uS.  That should take care of it permanently.  On high latency systems, you might consider up to 6secs from the 3.

Thanks Carl for replying.  Unfortunately that made no difference.  I tried increasing incrementally to 3,000,000 then 6,000,000 then 12,000,000.
