Guest Tools Is Not Running

Configuration:

VMWare Server 2.0 Beta

VixCom 1.5

I use a guest VM to perform automated tests. My tests will fail with "Guest tools is not running" fairly regularly. This happens even though I perform two WaitForToolsInGuest operations (with no timeout) prior to any operation that requires the tools to be running.

The failures happen at different times. I've checked the guest when it happans and it appears that the tools are still running. At least the icon is still displayed in the task tray.

Has anyone else seen this type of behavior?

Thought had similar problem. This time on Linux 64 bit host, Linux 32 bit guest. Even put in a loop with vmrun with listProcessesInGuest to make sure VMware Tools are installed (and working I assume). So the listProcessesInGuest comes back fine ... and while typing this I recognized the s.o.b. Linux guess restarted at that stage of the whole process I have going on, it really disappeared with VMware Tools and all, it was my guest OS' fault.
