Greetings to all:

I have installed VMWare ESX in VMWare workstation 6.5.1 but when I tried to turn on a vm I received "you may not power on a virtual machine in a virtual machine" error. I have added "monitor_control.restrict_backdoor = "true" in the vmx file, I have selected Intel vt-x or AMD-v for processor and selected "replicate physical network connection state" under network connection. My processor is Intel core 2 quad Q6600. Obviously I am missing something, any ideas? Thank you in advance.

Please also add the following two lines to your vmx file and try to boot again.

ethernet0.virtualDev = “e1000″

monitor.virtual_exec = “hardware”
