Ensure your CPUs support either AMD-V or Intel-VT: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=1901

long mode is 64-but capability, EM64T for intel, and AMD64 Your processor has to be both 64-bit capable and have vt/svm enabled.

Though VT-x is required for 64-bit guest support on Intel processors, AMD-V is not required for 64-bit guest support on AMD processors. Any but the very first AMD64 chips are capable of running 64-bit guests. See KB 1901.
