ssh into VM

Jump to solution

I have a Vista VM which has sshd running in a cygwin environment. I'm trying to ssh in from a server on the same network. I noticed that when I use the ip of the VM I can successfully ssh into it, but when I try to ssh using the hostname or the name of the computer, the connection times out. Does anyone know what could cause this? Is there something specific I have to configure with the ESXi server to use domain names to connect?

This issue is not related to ESX(i). If you can't ssh into your Vista guest by its hostname you should check the DNS registration of the Vista host or the WINS configuration.

Type "nslookup

=Send "Posting" to 911 for only $999999,99!=
