slow windows file copy

Hi

I have DL 380 G5 P400/256 BBWC and 4 SAS disk array 0+1. When i installed windows 2008 R2 on it copying 3 GB files took 2~3 seconds ( i understand thet wendows was copying this file for a longer time in backgroun) but when i instaled windows as guest in ESXi 4 copying took 50 seconds. How to anable windows to copy as fast as earlier ? Do i need to configure virtual SCSI controler and if yes then how ?

anyone has any idea?

3GB / 50 seconds = 60 MB/sec. It's a good speed, you know.

3GB in 3 seconds = 1 GB / sec

Yes i know 60 MB/s it is a good speed. So i thing it is something with write caching in windows. It seems it is disabled and i do know why ? maybe it is somthing with virtual SCSI controler

1GB / sec is a fake speed, so I just can't see any problem with real 60 MB / sec.

well it is problem for me because i would like to have fiew virtual machines and one of it wiil be a file server for old application which use dbf files. So this application will work faster if windows will cache read write operation.

Run some real load on a file server, not on local storage. On both physical and virtual file servers.
