problem starting ESXi 4 from USB

guys, I extracted the vmware esxi from the installation iso image to a usb, so I have the installation on a usb drive, rather than having to install it to a hard disk. ESXi start loading but it stop at "loading Module usb." I got a M3N78-VM motherboard

any help appreciated

Your motherboard is in HCL?

I took a look at vmware help site and I don't see anything simillar to my problem. My installation hangs while "loading module usb" (during the yellow scree). I tried booting off the cd and I get the same problem....

need help anyone?

Try to disable USB controller from BIOS.

No other ideas... sorry.

Did you solve this issue? I am having the same problem. I have disabled the usb and then the system hangs on loading the sata controller.

The CD installer can install ESXi 4 directly to USB as part of a standard install. No need to extract anything.

Sorry I didn't see the other reference to installing from CD.
