new virtual network, with one hardware NIC

Hi,

I'm new to ESXi, so I have one question connected with virtual networking.

I've been using vmware server previously and it has an option to configure compleatly virtual network, what I mean:

I have one hardware NIC which is connected to phisical network. There I have connected a virtual machine, with one phisical (nic-p) and one virtual interface(nic-v). It is a router for some virtual machines which are connecting to nic-p through router. As you can see below:

router's phisical NIC

router's virtual NIC

vm1 vm2 vm3 (3 vitrutal machines)

Is configuration like this avaliable in ESXi?

Thanks in advance,

Marcin

That could be done via 2 vSwitches. 1 vswitch and portgroup for internal only and 1 for external, hook up the router to the external and internal and hook the rest up to internal only.

ok, now I catch :)... I do not have to add any virtual NIC's. I just thought that I have to add phisical NIC to every virtual switch.

Thanks for all Smiley Happy
