iso file not booting

Hello,

I placed the downloaded iso file on CDROM and tried to reboot from CDROM but nothing happened as if the boot sector was not on the CDROM. To test the CDROM drive, I put another CDROM in and it booted fine. Has anyone encountered similar problem? My OS is Window Vista Home.TIA.

Did you click the box to enable CD Rom (connected and connected at boot) for the VM?

It sounds like the the CD that you burned with the ISO is "bunk". Have you tried that CD on another machine? You might want to re-burn that ISO.

You didn't by chance copy the ISO file directly onto a CD? Probably not, but I've seen a few people do that. In your burning software, you want to make sure you burn the image to a CD. When you the browse the CD in Windows, you should see all of the contents and not just a single ISO file. Also make sure the CD-ROM device for the VM is set to connect at boot .
