install on PowerEdge 1750?

I've been putting ESXi 3.5 update 5 on a variety of older servers (since we put 4.0 into production, we have a lot of old hardware lying about), and I've hit a roadblock on a PowerEdge 1750. Latest BIOS (a12) is installed, system has 2Gb of RAM which I was planning on increasing once I got the install done, and has dual Xeon 2.8Ghz CPUs. Should be enough to run, and it appears to install, but after install routine finishes and reboot happens, the server won't boot from the internal drives (there are three, non-RAID, 36GB disks in there). All I see is the typical Dell "press F1 to retry, F2 for BIOS" message. I've double-checked the settings- the system is supposed to boot from the first hard drive, and there's no CD in the CD-ROM anyway.

What am I missing here? Any suggestions?
