firewall concept of ESX 3i

Hi,

I am trying to find out way of open and closed ports of ESX 3i server as we check out ESX 3x server. So i tried with 2 ways

1)esxcfg-firewall (But it did n't appeared in console)

2)iptables -l (But it did n't appeared in console)

Security profile of vi client ESX 3.x is different from 3i incase of firewall configuration.

Please clarify me following:

whether firewall concept is their is ESX 3i.If so,what is the way to check the firewall allowed ports.

I did n't found much information in google.

Thanks in advance

ESXi lack of Service Console, so lack ALSO of the iptables part.

It means ESX 3i does not have service console.Their is no concept of firewall.

In esx 3i we can only start/stop following 2 services

1)Vmware virtual center agent

2)NTP daemon

That is correct. What exactly are you trying to "open up"?

thanks for all your replies.

Conclusion:ESX 3i does not have any firewall, because it does not have any service console.Following ports are opened by default.

ssh,ftp ,vi....etc

ESXi doesn't come with SSH enabled and if you want FTP you have to add files for it (and both items would be unsupported)
