hi! I understand that esxi hypervisor is free for download, but how do i manage the VM running on the esxi? Do i need license for that? and what tool can i use to manage it?

You can use the vc client to connect straight to your esx server.

Once you have built the server, connect to http://esxservername you will have a web interface for management and you can download the client from there.
