error 25003. setup failed to create the virtualcenter repository

Hi All,

As stated in subject, above error message always happen on VirtualCenter 2.5 installation. I gives database user as dbo_owner role on virtual center database. I also tried both of sql authentication and windows authentication, and still have no luck.

Configuration

  • Windows 2003 Server R2 SP2

  • SQL Express 2005 with Advance Services SP3

  • .Net Framework 3.5 SP1

Any advice will much appreciated,

Have you found any errors int the logfiles of vcenter?

i found following entries onvim-vcs-msi.log file

DB is in Case Insensitif mode and still get the same error.

After you create the database on SQL Server did you create a separate

user account for VC to use or are you using SA? Are you using SQL or

Windows authentication? Did you grant the user the DB_Owner role on the

new SQL server database? Before trying MSDE again have you un-installed

the any previous versions of MSDE first?

or try this: "For some reason I was able to run through the entire install by running

it from CD. I downloaded the ISO and made a CD to install from.

Previously I was installing from the .zip file that I copy to the

server. It is really strange, I don't know what changed, but it has

been installed and I'm now using the SQL instance as the back end."
