We have a strange problem. We purchased Dell Poweredge 2850 with ESX 3.5i integrated. The latest patches and firmware is installed.
We get a CPU peak (2300 Mhz) each 10 minutes without running a virtual machine on it. The ESX 3.5i is based on the foundation license, so they are managed from VC.
I did some research and i have a workaround to solve my issue.
I disconnect the esx server from virtualcenter. Also i change the license back to evaluation version. Then i reboot the server. Again I change the license back to foundation. I reconnect to virtualcenter and my CPU peak is gone.
Can anyone tell me if this a bug or known behaviour? The problem seems on all our 10 ESX Servers.
You might read back in this forum some on this topic - I believe this is caused by one of the monitoring daemons. Are you up to the latest version - what build are you running?
Thanks for replying. We have ESX Server 3i, 3.5.0, 143129.
