configuration maximums related to ESX 3.5 server host computer resources

Hi everybody,

I read the configuration maximums, in that they given

1-No.of virtual CPUs per server            192

2-no.of virtual machiens per server       170

3- No.of cores per server                      32

4- No.of logical processors per server    32

5-No.of virtual CPUs per core              8/20

according to my knowledge for 1Virtual machine we can allocate max 4 CPUs and 1 ESX 3.5 OS  can have max of 32 CPUs. In that way we can creat 128 VMs. Here my doubt is how can we creat 170 virtual machines per server and 192 virtual CPUs per server. Can any one tell me calliculation of these maximums?? and also explain about virtual CPUs per core??

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the community

One VM can allocate max 4 vCPU.

More vCPU can be mapper on few physical CPU (to be correct to physical cores)
