Hi,
I have just started playing with virtualisation so this might be a stupid question.
I have installed ESXi ver 3.5 and installed Windows server 2003 on it (and am accessing this server with vSphere client).
I have set a directory as shared on the virtual server, however I am only being able to access this shared directory from 1 PC only. Is there some firewall setting that I am missing which is blocking all the traffic from all the other PC's?
Cheers

Just a few quick questions. Have you installed the VMWare tools? Also is there anything special about the computer that can connect to the server?
Is there some firewall setting that I am missing which is blocking all the traffic from all the other PC's?
At least not on the ESX server.
Make sure you have a proper name resolution to the server and the share and NTFS permissions are correct.

On the server side I have installed the ESXi, whilst on the PC side I have installed Vmware Vsphere client.
The computer that can connect is running Windows Server 2003, however there are other machines running that OS which are not connecting as well.

OK So can you connect to the share on the VM Guest from other PC's?
If so it is not an issue with the Virutalisation but with the errant PC.
if you cannot access the share on the guest from any machine then there is an issue with your networking,
how have you configured your virtual switching environment on your ESXi Guest?
