Windows 2003 unsupported BusLogic SCSI adapter

I'm getting the following message on a ESXi 3.5 130755:

Message on : Your guest operating system is Windows Server 2003 and you have one or more virtual SCSI devices installed in your virtual machine. Please be aware that Windows Server 2003 does not support the BusLogic SCSI adapter that VMware ESX Server currently uses for its virtual SCSI devices. If you have not done so already, you will need to install our driver in the virtual machine. You can download the driver from our Web site at "http://www.vmware.com/info?id=43". Click OK to continue or Cancel to abort.

http://www.vmware.com/info?id=43 producesa general list of downloads.

By searching "BusLogic SCSI adapter" I get "KB Article 1006956" (http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1006956) which seem to address my issue. The article list a download link (http://www.vmware.com/download/ws/drivers_tools.html). At the bottom of this page there is a download link to version 1.2.0.4 of the "the special SCSI driver".

The download paragraph reads "This driver is for Windows guest operating systems running on VMware Workstation 3.0 or later", appears under the headind "Download VMware Workstation" and the SCSI driver version installed on my VM is 1.2.0.6

What am I missing?

You might just try switching your VM's SCSI controller over to LSI Logic in the VM configuration.

The lsilogic driver will work faster than the buslogic driver as well. The buslogic driver is older, and the drivers not included by default as it used to be with other OS's. Unless there's a specific reason you should use lsilogic.
