Vmware server 2.0 on production?

I known ESXi has better performace than Vmware server 2.0, but we want to use VMware server2.0, it's because Linux has rsync to copy hot

VM between two hosts. Could someone share of the VMware server 2.0 experience on production? what do you have on this VMware server 2.0

/ how many users on your network / hardware specs.

Thanks !!

Access to rsync wouldn't be the reason to choose VMware server. It certainly could be used in production and has been many many times. Like anything you need to test your environment to see if it is a fit for your needs. Do understand that rsync wouldn't work in the same manner that you are used to using it within a Linux environment.

If you have the hardware to support it you are far better off with ESX(i). Hot cloning is quite easily done with ESX(i) using snapshots and copying off the base vmdk. Have a look at ghettoVCB or ghettoVCB2
